Carlos Joe Costa is a producer, percussionist and flutist originally from San Francisco and now based in Vancouver. He has worked with artists such as Santana, Journey, Taj Mahal, Tripoli Steel Drum Band, Elvin Bishop and Louie Bellson. For 7 years, Carlos was the house percussionist for Pacific Recording with producer Paul Curcio (Metallica, Grateful Dead, Herbie Hancock, Doobie Brothers.) He released his first solo album in 2010 entitled, "African Science" and co-produced and performed on Dutch Robinson's "Freedom" in 2013. In addition to his music experience, Carlos has had some film success. He was a producer of a filmmaking collective, Film Shop Entertainment Group headed by Vancouver screenwriter , John Fairly. (The Raffle, 1994) He has written a screenplay about the prominent Vancouver historical figure, Joe Fortes and has appeared and performed music in the Tim Burton film "Big Eyes." Carlos' upcoming album, "Renaissance Now" will be available this Christmas, 2018
